Fahrenheit to Celsius converter

Type a temperature in degrees Fahrenheit to get Celsius, or the other way round. Fahrenheit is used in the United States for weather, cooking and body temperature; almost everywhere else uses Celsius.

Formula

°C = (°F − 32) × 5 ÷ 9

A quick mental trick: subtract 30, then halve it. 70°F becomes 40, halved is 20, and the exact answer is 21.1°C. It is close enough for weather, not for baking.
