How to convert PST to GMT
To convert PST to GMT by hand, add 7 hours for most of the year, then fix the date if you cross midnight.
- 8 PM PST on 15 January is 4:00 AM GMT the next day.
- 8 PM PDT on 15 July is 3:00 AM GMT the next day.
- On the other side of the year, 8 PM PST on 2 February is 4:00 AM GMT the next day, because the gap is then 8 hours.
- 8 PM PDT on 15 October is 3:00 AM GMT the next day.

About the two time zones
Pacific Time (PST/PDT). Used in: Los Angeles, San Francisco, Seattle, Portland, Vancouver. Clocks go forward on the second Sunday in March and back on the first Sunday in November.

Greenwich Mean Time (GMT). Used in: Reykjavik and much of West Africa use GMT all year. No daylight saving: the offset is the same all year.
